Coromandel Peninsula

Finally my last trip in New Zealand. It startet with a complicated hitchhiking action from Tauranga to Whitianga. I needed a record number of 8 different rides for just 170 kilometers. but I did it still in a really good time of just 4 hours, and I met some really interesting people. Two of them were dealers and tried to sell me some dope in the car. :) After I arrived Whitianga I checked in in the "on the beach backpackers" which was really nice and comfortable, but soon I realized that all windsurf school and equipment hire companies do not operate in winter, but I still spent 4 days at this hostel and the area around. I was at the Cathedral Cove, which is a steep limestone coast and one of new Zealand's most famous sights. Some kilometers further I dug a hole in the hot water beach and had my own spa, In the end it was a really hard job to dig a hole when the waves destroying my spa bath all the time. On the hot water beach is coming warm water from about 2000 meter deep to the surface and than you can build your own spa bath in the sand for about 2 hours before the high tide is coming back and covers the hot spots again. After the 4 days I traveled on with Emily an Malaysian girl. We had a look at the town of Coromandel and a waterpark nearby.

but now the pics

All the best for your trip - and watch out for the customs, not taking away your precious gras!
